Glow Guide
Everything for your sunless tan, ensuring a perfect glow from start to finish.
-
Hydrate: Keep your skin well-moisturized by drinking plenty of water. Hydrated skin tends to hold a tan better.
Sun Protection: Avoid prolonged sun exposure without sunscreen, and refrain from using tanning beds in the week leading up to your spray tan. Sunburned skin can negatively affect the outcome of the tan.
Beauty Treatments: Complete any beauty appointments like hair, waxing, facial treatments, or other procedures at least a few days before your spray tan. This includes treatments like lasers, chemical peels, and microdermabrasion. Allow enough time for your skin to heal to avoid interference with the tanning process.
Retinol Use: If you use retinol, discontinue its use a few days before your spray tan. This helps ensure an even tan on your face and prevents blotchiness.
-
Complete Manicures and Pedicures: If you're planning to get a manicure or pedicure before your spray tan, schedule it for the day before your session. It's crucial to avoid getting your nails done on the same day as your tan—soaking your hands and feet in water can lead to an uneven color application.
Exfoliate: Gently exfoliate your skin to remove any dead skin cells. This helps create a smooth surface for the spray tan, ensuring an even application and longer-lasting results. Focus on areas with rough skin, such as elbows, knees, and ankles.
Shave: If you need to remove hair, do so a day before your spray tan. Shaving on the day of your spray tan can lead to irritation, and the open pores may absorb more of the tanning solution, resulting in uneven color. Forgot to shower and shave the night before your appointment? Skip it all and come as you are. Trust us, you’ll love your tan WAY more, and we'll give you tips on how to shave with a spray tan on.
Moisturize: Hydrated skin helps the spray tan apply more evenly and last longer. Apply a light, oil-free moisturizer after exfoliating. Pay extra attention to areas prone to dryness, such as elbows, knees, and ankles, but avoid heavy or oil-based lotions that can create a barrier between your skin and the tanning solution.
Avoid Lotion & Perfumes: Applying any lotion or perfume on your body (a small amount of lotion on your face is okay). You want your skin to be squeaky-clean and even a little "thirsty" the next day at your appointment. "Thirsty" skin more readily absorbs the tanning solution.
-
Moisturize Your Bod: Hydrated skin helps the spray tan apply more evenly and last longer. Apply a light, oil-free moisturizer after exfoliating. Pay extra attention to areas prone to dryness, such as elbows, knees, and ankles, but avoid heavy or oil-based lotions that can create a barrier between your skin and the tanning solution.
Avoid Makeup and Deodorant: Skip the use of makeup, deodorant, and other skincare products on the day of your spray tan. These products can create a barrier on your skin, preventing the tanning solution from properly adhering. If you need to wear deodorant, make sure it's free of oils and aluminum.
-
Get comfy like it’s a self-care day! Throw on your favorite relaxed pants, a chill long-sleeve tee or cozy sweatshirt, and some easygoing shoes like flip-flops or slippers with no socks. Darker shades are the way to go because the temporary bronzer might rub off a bit, but no worries—it washes out of most fabrics.
Leave it behind: Leave the tight stuff at home, like bras with super snug straps, sports bras (or any bra!), and anything hugging your hot bod too tight. No leggings, boots, or socks please.

Water Avoidance: While your tan is in the development phase, refrain from water activities such as washing dishes or engaging in activities that may lead to water splashes. This includes staying rain-free during this crucial period.
Sweat-Free Zone: Put a pause on sweating it out at the gym or any intense physical activities.
Mind the Touch: Be conscious of skin-to-skin contact, not only with others but also in your typical positions. Consider covering areas prone to contact with fabric, especially if you're a leg-crosser or arm-rest sleeper. -
Timing is Everything
Classic Spray Tan: If you are a classic girly and opted for our classic tan, please wait a minimum of 8 hours before showering.
Rapid Spray Tan: if you're an on the go girly and opted for our Rapid spray tan, the waiting game is more flexible, ranging from 1 to 4 hours before your shower. To pinpoint the ideal hour for your shower, discuss your desired color with us, and we'll guide you accordingly.
Luxe Spray Tan: If you are a luxurious tan kind of girl, then we suggest waiting 6 hours before showering.
These designated timeframe is vital, as it allows the tanning solution to set optimally. While earlier showers are an option, bear in mind they might yield a lighter tan color and a shorter tan lifespan.
Overnight Immersion: For the ultimate tan, consider sleeping in it and showering the next morning. This technique can maximize the benefits of your custom airbrush tan.
Tips
Opt for a lukewarm (not excessively hot) body rinse, focusing on using soap in your armpits and intimate areas while avoiding lathering up your entire body.
After your spray tan, during your initial shower, you'll notice the cosmetic bronzer washing off in the water. Don't worry—this is a regular part of the spray tan process.
Once you're out of the shower, gently pat (rather than rub) yourself dry and apply moisturizer all over for a perfect finish.

Ensuring a long-lasting and radiant tan requires a few simple yet crucial steps:
Gentle Cleansing: Aggressive body washes or scrubs can be a tan's worst enemy. Opt for a mild shower gel and skip the exfoliants, including loofahs, washcloths, and any exfoliating mitts.
Mindful Water Exposure: Prolonged water exposure, whether from swimming, working out, hot tubs, baths, or saunas, can accelerate tan fading. Consider avoiding these activities for a few days following your tan if you want to maintain that sun-kissed glow.
Light and Oil-Free Products: Heavy, oily products can overwhelm your tan. Stick to something light and oil-free to keep your tan looking fresh and vibrant.
Professional Products: Don't hesitate to inquire about the professional products we offer that can significantly extend the life of your tan. Our experts can guide you on the best options available to enhance the longevity of your tan, ensuring you radiate confidence for an extended period.
